Family is more than DNA. Compromises were made for the Child Citizenship Act (effective 2001) which left an estimated 35,000-40,000 intercountry adoptees born before February 28, 1983 now without citizenship.

The Adoptee Citizenship Act remedies a key bureaucratic loophole in the law and recognizes all intercountry adoptees as fellow Americans raised in American families. Read More
